It was a great enjoyable day, and the mood was a lot more relaxed than it was during Fashion Week, so if you haven’t gone before, I would highly suggest going to London Fashion Weekend the next year.
If you compare it to Fashion Week, you’ll notice that it’s much more chaotic. When essential looks are reduced to trend-based shows, it is also a lot simpler to really learn about them and make mental notes on them.
So here are some old fashion trends I saw that may be coming back…
Beauty Gummy Bears…
My first destination was, unsurprisingly, a beauty store, and it was there that I became acquainted with a brand known as “Beauty In,” which is a Brazilian firm that produces collagen candies. That’s right, gummy bears are good for your skin since they include hydrolyzed collagen as well as several vitamins. After trying a few, (a lot), I can say with absolute certainty that they have a flavour that is on par with that of gummy bears. Fortunately, there was a very generous box of strawberry-flavoured gummy bears included in the goody bag, and I will be testing those out. Yum!
Leather Effect Nail Polish…
After that, I went and took a quick look at some of the pop-up designer stores. There was quite a number that had limited deals and exceptional rates, like fifty per cent off of Roberto Cavalli. However, I did not make a purchase. At this point, I was in desperate need of another beauty fix, so I decided to go check out what Maybelline had been working on…
This was a fantastic concept, and Maybelline, which is one of my favourite “drugstore” products, went above and above to make it happen. When I looked through their gorgeous pick-and-mix type exhibit, I felt like a child at a candy shop. I had already dug around in my goody bag and discovered a leather effect nail polish, so I was happy when a member of the Maybelline team offered me a full-size Brow Drama and a cult favourite Baby Lips simply because she thought I’d enjoy them. She also gave me a leather effect nail polish.
Fishtail Braids…
At the Label M fashion show, there was a pop-up styling bar where attendees could get a fast re-style. I noticed a lot of fishtail braids, so I believe it’s fair to say that this trend isn’t going away anytime soon!
All Dressed Up in Pink…
Both Antipodium and PPQ demonstrated the power of the colour pink via the use of a variety of textiles and surface textures. All of the lip colours had a matte texture, and they ranged from neutral to bubblegum pink. As for the hair, it was as straight as poker and very, very shining all throughout. Oh, and if you’re thinking about purchasing a new coat for the next winter season, you should give the colour pink serious consideration; I know I will.
Going Back to Our Roots…
Featuring opulent, cosy designs by designers such as Mulberry, Erdem, and Mary Katrantzou. The eyes were dark and dramatic, with the majority of the women wearing smudges of gold and brown metallic shadow but no liner. The skin looked dewy and nearly naked.
Get in Form…
Use Kerastase Touche Final to get the appearance of wet hair, which was the fashion statement for this area. To achieve this look, the roots should seem smooth, and the ends should look fluffy.
The clunky boots were, in my opinion, the best part of Shape Up… I need to have these.
Victoriana …
The Victoriana style was all about simplicity: monochromatic black, white, and grey one-piece dresses with little or no accessories. It was a highly wearable and traditional aesthetic. A young, undone kind of appearance was achieved by allowing baby hairs and flyaways in the hair to do their own thing while leaving the rest of the hair shiny and with a bit of a mess.
Bleached Brows…
Once at the Alexander Wang Autumn/Winter Show, models were instructed to have white-blonde eyebrows and to sculpt their faces in a futuristic manner.
The models came four hours before the start of the event, giving them plenty of time to temporarily enhance the appearance of their brows. The bold appearance was balanced with ultra-smooth, high-gloss hair that was styled in a sweeping, “boyish” manner.
Some of the brows had a warm golden hue, while others were hardly noticeable.
The contouring had an ashy appearance, and the makeup was harsh and sculpted. The nails were spotless and had a base colour of light sand with a transparent pink topcoat.
I believe that this is one of those trends that appears spectacular in a show but is rather terrifying in real life. I believe that this is one of those trends. The brows serve as a framing for the face and are an essential component of the beauty regimens of a great number of women. I would also be afraid about the bleach doing damage to the hairs on my eyebrows!
The brows were brought back to their former splendour by the stylists using L’Oreal home hair colour kits once the performance was over.
Miley Cyrus is another celebrity who likes to get her brows lightened… Will there be more beauty influenced by Miley Cyrus on the catwalks in the future?
Lily Allen’s Egyptian Eyes…
Fans were split on whether or not they liked Lily’s neon dip-dyed hair (not that she’ll care), but her classic eyeliner flicks from the 1960s were flawless. The rich blue hue of the liner prevents it from having a “shrinking” effect on her eyes. If you haven’t quite perfected the art of winged liner, Daniel Sandler Velvet Waterproof Eyeliners with their delicate tips and buildable intensity are the right product for you.
Apply Velvet Eyeliner in Blue along the upper and lower lash lines, and then use a black liner to create little flicks at the outer corners. You may draw attention to your eyes by applying a thin line of gold eye shadow right below the waterline.
Ella Eyre’s Va Va Volume…
Ella’s ombre curls were so large that they almost obscured Rudimental’s face when they accepted their award for Best Single. In order to get this look, use Philip B. Oud Royal Mega-Curl Enhancer into curls before using a diffuser to blow dry your hair.
The Curl Enhancer is an all-natural, plant-based product that moisturizes colour-treated curls while also giving them a bouncy, voluptuous volume. To create even more definition, backcomb the sides of your hair.
Lorde’s Vampy Lips…
Her berry-stained lips were the focal point of Lorde’s appearance, which she achieved by opting for a more ethereal hairstyle, using a porcelain foundation base, and keeping her eye makeup minimal.
Lorde’s statement lip is rich in darkness and glossy, demonstrating that the grunge beauty style from the ’90s is still going strong today. butter When applied to the lips, London Lippy in La Moss creates a slick that is the colour of seductive red wine. Try applying a thin layer of red lipstick on top of Balmi and blending it in with a lip brush to create a more muted stain if you find the idea of a strong lip a bit intimidating.
Ellie Goulding’s Fairytale Braid…
The basic side braid appears soft and natural, which is excellent for counteracting Ellie’s dress, which is in the form of a princess. Admittedly, this is a safe decision, but it’s also a really attractive one.
Try combing Shu Uemura Ample Angora through damp hair before blow-drying it to produce a plumped-up texture like Ellie’s. This will give your hair a touchably soft feel like hers. To add form as you go, ghd recommends using a barrel brush like their Natural Bristle Brush Size 3 (Barrel Brush). Make a straightforward three-strand plait and fasten it with a transparent elastic.
Gradient Glitter Nails…
All that glitters – looks fabulous: Even though I was previously aware of the fact, the gradient glitter pattern created by butter LONDON and shown during the Nicole Miller event brought it back to my mind. Glitter polishes may sometimes give the impression of being too juvenile, but the darker tips really give this look an edge. This is a very simple technique to spruce up your nails, and it really looks better if the lines are a bit sloppy than if they are perfectly straight.
