List of Makeup Items Best for Beginners

The One & Only Tag

Which of the following would you choose if you could only have one? and pourquoi en quelques mots?

Primers:

I really like the bareMinerals Prime Time Foundation Primer, and even though I’ve had mine for a year, I haven’t even come close to finishing it yet. You just need a very little amount, and it will prevent any midday slumping! The gel consistency feels wonderful when applied to my skin.

Base Product:

Erborian BB Creme Light is one of my all-time favourite products, and it also has a very long shelf life, which means that purchasing it is money well spent. I really like how lightweight it feels on the skin, and I also like how the coverage can be built up to your desired level. Even for me, SPF 25 is the ideal amount.

I’m not sure whether I should be honest about this, concealer. Under my eyes, I like concealing my light and intriguing complexion with Mac Pro Longwear Concealer in NC20, but my go-to spot treatment is Murad Blemish Treatment. Covering up blemishes while also helping to prevent new ones is easy with Concealer Light.

I think Soap & Glory makes the best powder. One Heck Of A Blot right now, it’s a pretty light transparent powder that performs exactly what it’s meant to do, which is something that doesn’t often happen with powders! It is absolutely pale without being chalky, and it successfully controlled shine throughout the recent heatwave, which is the ultimate test for any cosmetic product.

Blush:

Daniel Sandler Watercolour There’s a good reason why Fluid Blush has attained cult status: it’s incredible. Cherub is the one that stands out to me the most as a result of its versatility as a colour. Powder blush has more of a tendency to merely sit on top of your skin, but liquid blush may be blended in much more easily.

Bronzer:

I haven’t discovered the ideal bronzer yet since I’m simply so pale naturally that it’s difficult for me to get a natural appearance when I use bronzer. Teint Divin by Caudalie, a stunning mineral powder, is the product that comes the closest to meeting my needs.

Highlighter:

MAC PearlMatte Radiance Face Powder in Pink Buttercream from the Baking Beauties Collection; this stunning compact, which has the appearance of a Polly Pocket, is part of the collection. The shimmer is not too flashy and instead lends an illuminating quality.

Makeup Brush (single):

I believe Real Techniques brushes are great, and the Domed Shadow Brush is the ideal form for achieving a professional-looking finish with your eyeshadow and blending it out.

Eyebrow Product:

Although I have only just discovered the wonder that is eyebrow threading, I believe that the timeless Tweezerman Slant Tweezers are an excellent tool for maintaining your brows in between grooming sessions. The ones I have are pink.

Eye Shadow (single):

If I want to be a little bit naughty, I’m going to go for Aura from Urban Decay. This is from the incredible Oz Glinda palette, and it actually consists of two colours; one side is an iridescent white shade, while the other side is quite similar but with blue and violet undertones. You may use them to emphasise the shape of your brows, or you can combine them, and then what do you have? …. The ideal shade of eyeshadow, to put it another way.

Eyeliner:

For me, this is all about lasting power, and it was a toss-up between Smashbox and Illamasqua. Illamasqua won out in the end. The Smashbox Limitless Eyeliners are an excellent foundational product; they perform like kohl at its very finest.

Mascara:

Benefit They’re Real is hands down the greatest mascara I’ve ever used; it separates and lengthens the lashes like no other product I’ve tried. The only thing I don’t like about it is that it becomes dry after some time has passed, but when it’s nice, it’s really delicious.

Lip Gloss:

What’s the difference between lipstick, lip gloss, and lip stain? You mean I can’t have one of everything? – I can’t live with dry lips, therefore I’ll have to opt for the Urban Decay Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Color. Not only does it provide a bold colour, but it also moisturises the lips in a very pleasant way. I’m a big fan of lip crayons since they’re so easy to use.

Lip Liner:

I have only ever possessed a single lip liner, and it was made by Models Own. Unfortunately, I have been unable to locate it online. Since I don’t actually often use lip liner, is it possible for you to exchange it for another lip colour? 🙂

Lip Balm:

Lately, I’ve been really obsessed with Balmi. The shea butter in it makes your lips feel very good without being too greasy, and it also works well as a foundation for lipstick.

Nail Polish:

Good God, just one bottle of nail polish? This is without a doubt the most challenging topic on this list for me, but I think I’m going to have to pick Cajun Shrimp by OPI since it looks fantastic both on the fingers and the toes. Would you kindly refrain from taking away my collection?

Wow! That was a lot of fun, despite the fact that it was a bit stressful. I was motivated to do this tag by Kat from Tales of a Pale Face; if you’re up to the task, share your links with me; I’d love to hear what some of your favourite items are!
