The following are some simple adjustments that you can make to your beauty routine…
I have an eye cream, and although it is excellent, I often “forget” to apply it both morning and night. This is peculiar given that I adhere to the rest of my skincare regimen religiously and that I often complain about my dark shadows. Your eyes are the first to give away signs of exhaustion; thus, illuminating and taking care of this region is essential to achieving a fresh-faced appearance.
After I have cleansed my face and applied moisturiser, I will next use Tata Harper’s Restorative Eye Creme in the morning and in the evening. Use your ring finger to apply the product so you don’t put too much pressure on the skin, then dab it on in dots before softly massaging it into the skin.
I am all about the nails, and I want to maintain them strong and healthy. Again, I’m not sure why I’ve been so sloppy with this. Although I do use CND Solar Oil and Avoplex by OPI, I simply don’t use them often enough, so this year I’m going to make an effort to rectify that. Dry cuticles have a higher risk of cracking and becoming painful; even the trendiest nail colour can’t make that appear attractive. Before I go to sleep at night, I’ll be using Solar Oil, and throughout the day, I’ll be using Avoplex To Go (This travel friendly tube has a handy brush applicator and smells yummy).
Tip for application: Massage the oil into the skin to encourage the growth of your nails.
Hair Masks and Treatments
Since I no longer have access to my Shu Uemura Full Shimmer Treatment Masque, I haven’t been in the habit of using hair masks on a consistent basis. As a consequence, I’ve noticed that the ends of my hair are starting to get a little dry. In the past, when I had blonde highlights all over my head, I used a product from Kerastase called Reflection Chroma Captive Shine Intensifying Masque. This product has a luxurious texture that reminds me of butter in a nice manner, and it made my hair considerably shinier and softer than it was before. Or I could try something else; do you have any ideas? A helpful hint for application is that after applying the mask to your hair, you should cover it with a hot towel and let it on for ten minutes for the therapy to take full effect. Because of this, the product will be able to penetrate more deeply into your hair and come into direct touch with your scalp.
Squeaky Clean Makeup Brushes!
So, I’m very excellent at this, but even though it’s advised that I clean all of my brushes once a week, I usually just do it once every two weeks since I’m too lazy to do it more often. Cleaning your makeup brushes not only makes them more effective but is also essential for avoiding outbreaks. I have a variety of brushes from Real Techniques, Daniel Sandler, and bareMinerals, and the way I clean them at the moment is to first get the bristles extremely drenched in water, then work a gentle cleanser into the bristles, and finally rinse the brushes until only clear water comes out of the bristles.
I’m going to step up my cleaning regimen by washing my brushes once a week and using the Makeup Brush Cleaner from The Pro Hygiene Collection for a little bit extra antibacterial activity.
Tip for Cleaning: Brushes with wooden handles need to be dried at an angle so that water does not soak down into the wood and cause it to expand and break. This may be avoided by drying the brushes at an angle. You might try arranging your brushes in a row on a face towel that has been folded up and angled so that the bristles point downward.
